At Ergosleep®, we use only the best materials in the finish of our mattresses. And we also think about the environment. But your sleep comfort also takes precedence. We therefore also make spring mattresses that provide your body with optimum support.

Pocket springs

Pocket springs were developed in the second half of the 20th century. They are manufactured from high quality steel wire. Pocket springs are barrel-shaped

Furthermore, each spring is individually packaged in non-woven pockets. The springs are connected by means of a specially developed point adhesion in the centre of each spring.

The combination of the barrel shape and point adhesion means that each spring can move independently, which makes a pocket spring mattress exceptionally comfortable to sleep on, and means that it can also be folded (important when using adjustable bases).

By varying the thickness of the wire between the various zones, the counter-pressure of the core is differentiated, so that each part of the body is supported in the right way (for example, softer support beneath the shoulders, and firmer in the lumbar region).

Pocket springs are finished with different top and bottom layers of latex or Talalay latex to provide superior comfort in sleep. Pocket-spring mattresses are also in fact a huge air chamber, which means that they have a great capacity for ventilation.

Superior Pocket

Superior pocket springs are a recent development. They are manufactured from high quality steel wire. The steel wire is made barrel-shaped to form a spring. Immediately afterwards, each individual spring is electro-thermally heated to ‘harden’ the steel again. This stabilises the molecular structure of the steel wire in its new shape, ensuring that it retains its original resistance over the long term.

As a result, a superior pocket spring mattress promises extreme sleep comfort, and can also be folded (important when used on adjustable bases).
