A large number of people suffer from allergies. Many of these allergic patients react to moulds, but also and especially to the droppings of the dust mite that are inhaled as dust particles. This tiny arachnid (not even 0,4 mm long) feeds on moulds and flakes of skin, and it thrives in a warm and rather damp environment. In other words: your pillow and mattress are the ideal place for dust mites. You can even find some hundred thousands of them in one bed. |

Ranging from sneezing fits to asthma
The allergy to dust mites can cause quite some complaints: irritation to the eyes, a stuffed up nose, sneezing and coughing fits, eczema and even asthma. These complaints should be examined and treated very thoroughly, especially in young children. If necessary, the doctor will advise you in order to choose the appropriate therapy or medication.
Cleaning and maintaining dustproof
The first measure, however, consists in avoiding any contact with dust mites as much as possible. You can achieve this by cleaning the bedroom regularly and thoroughly (as much water as possible and/or a wet mop) and by regularly maintaining and airing it. If necessary, you can also ban the many “dust catchers”, especially in the bedrooms (curtains, drapes, fitted carpet, clothes, a textile lampshade,...). However, the most important source of a possible allergy to dust mite, is the bed. So this should be dealt with preventatively. |

Solve the problem at the source
Numerous dust mites lodge in mattresses and pillows, and as we spend one third of our life in bed, it is definitely necessary to take appropriate measures in that respect. Old mattresses and pillows should be replaced. But that’s not enough. You must also make sure to regularly clean and air them, and to wash your bedding frequently. By washing it at a temperature of 95°C, you kill all living dust mites (the higher the temperature, the more dust mites are killed), provided the washing cycle takes long enough (at least 1 hour).
The Sana covers are the perfect solution to that. They are manufactured in Sana cotton. This refined cotton that is stripped of all impurities and can be compared to surgical cotton, avoids the spreading of allergens by preventing mould-forming and as such removing the seed-bed of the dust mites! And all this without adding any chemicals.
When you wash them regularly, the Sana covers remain very hygienic and efficient. You can wash them at 95°C and dry them in your dryer. Which is fatal for all dust mites, but that won’t prevent you from enjoying a healthy sleep!
